I don't know if this will help, being a novice Mac user, but once someone referred me to a disktools file that could access HFS+. I don't know if that software will work with a CD. Here is his comment: > I was also looking for the disk tools floppy disk image for a 2400 > that had a newer finder on it so i could access HFS+ volumes > I think it was a 8.1 NOT 7.X image that was needed. <http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/Mac_OS_8.1_Update/Disk_Tools_PPC.img.bin> If that would help his situation, your friend in Germany could download the file. However, I can't read the disk at all- CD-Toolkit says the drive is there, and I can read other CD's, but not the one I need. I realized in the middle of the night that I had made the CD in HFS Plus- and that the installed OS 8.1 reads only HFS. Do you happen to know the first OS that would read HFS Plus? And if the 280 will accept it? It may be that OS 8.5 will handle HFS +, I think it will. Whether the 280 will accept 8.5, I don't know. If you're still active with the Duo list afficianados perhaps you can get an answer- I'd be most appreciative. Best DB _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
