Hello Greg,

Doesn't the 2300c have 8-bit sound though?  I'm guessing it
is uLaw, which is at least better than 8-bit linear.

    Well, the update on this.  I have been working on getting a 40 gig
drive to work, and it has been challenging.  Long story short, the CD
rom drive I have set up with this is a bit pokey.  Hard to find a decent
SCSI drive so mine is x4 (which I never cared how fast or slow till
now.)  It would error out... found a 8.5 install disk from the Macintosh
User group (not the Apple Corp but the other) here in Dallas, and copied
that to the hard drive.  After that it installed just fine.

    Strangely, over a network, other computers see the hard drive as 2
gig, while the Duo sees itself as 37 gig.  Strange.  It was receiving
files apparently fine when I was transferring over my MP3 collection
(takes about half a day over appletalk).  We will see how well
everything works when I get home.
