Thomas, would you happen to know if the information found here 
http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/71more.html#fs10 does in fact make 
ethernet connectivity via appletalk and older macs, such as the duo, 
easier? Do you use this Mac OSX preference pane - it's called share 
points.

Bottom line?  Get SharePoints.  While you can get by without it, it
makes it much easier to set up sharing under osX, especially with older
systems.  SharePoints can be downloaded from <www.hornware.com>.
