Hi,

On my stock 2400, except for the RAM that has been upgraded to 112MB, I prefer OS 9.1 over 8.6: it's just a bit more "modern".

As for wireless connectivity, I use a Dell True Mobile card (essentially the old Orinoco thing, I guess) in combination with an Airport base station: works to my complete satisfaction, actually reception is better than with our 933MHz iBook G4 with an internal Airport card.
