[DuoList] PB 2400 batteries

I know a great deal depends on what you're doing with your PB, but in just
the most general terms, how much time can be expected from a new battery for
a 2400c?  And if I make the most of using a compact flash card/adapter can I
expect significant gains?  I'm thinking of mainly word processing type
stuff, but of course, the call of the web (via a PC card) must answered
occasionally. 
Thanks for any advice and tips you may have.
