I've found product spec. for 3Com Megahertz 10Mbps (3CXEM556BT
 model with XJ 55.6 modem)  on www.3com.com site:

This device require PC notebooks

But what interesting: I have XJ3288R Megahertz 28.8 PC Card modem
 (designed for DELL notebook). It recogn. and works with my PB2400c
 with no problems
