<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Is it really worth the expense, You could
always remove the hard drive and try using it as an external with another
system. See if it will load as a secondary.. If it does indeed load you
should be able to access and remove your files and or try to repair the drive,
if nothing else at least format and install a new system. If nothing
happens and the files are really not worth the time, trouble and expense, trash
the drive and either get a replacement for the book or sell the book with out a
drive or as parts.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Hi y'all,</DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV>I shut the machine down for the past few days. </DIV>
<DIV>In listening for the spinning noise -- there is a slight initial whirl,
but it's very very brief -- thus, no, the disk is not spinning normally.
The boing boing sound is still present -- but now, there's a new sound of a
slight grinding noise.</DIV>
<DIV>Any advice?</DIV>
