<DIV>Should be 10 cells...each NiMH cell is 1.2~ volts, so 10 cells will get the 12v the unit needs. LiON cells are higher voltage per cell....but with no control circuit, using LiONs would be a fire hazard. A LiPO pack with internal regulator would be interesting...small, light and 3x the life. </DIV>
