I was in an Apple retail store the other day. They have a thin, light, flexible, short (.5 meter) 6 pin firewire cable with a clever little clear plastic dodad that holds the cable in a small coil and protects the plugs, US$14.00. Just what I was looking for. Part number M8708G/A.
