[1394] the Firewire ports have a problem

One of a few things could be happening:
1) ports fried
2) ports need to be reset
If you are using OS X, boot into open firmware
Reboot your machine and hold down CMD-Option-O-F
When you reach the firmware screen, type
Reset-all
And press return
See if the ports are working again (hopefully).....
