best bet is to stay with Oxford or Initio based devices check sites such as http://fwdepot.com and others for a variety of enclosures do you know what type of chip is on the board inside the ProMax enclosure? Should be either an LSI or an Oxford 911 (or 900) chip if its an Oxford chip you might want to try reflashing the firmware for the chip and see if that makes a difference.
