Boot ROM failure

A friend of mine accidentally played with my unit (actually a iMac DV
400se). This is what he did:

- pressed down the programmer's swtich while pressing the power on switch.
>From my understanding, this is only used for updating firmware. But the
thing is, there was no firmware file update loaded.

What could have gone wrong? Now, my iMac doesn't even want to boot. What I
see is terminal screen asking my to type "mac-boot" if I want to continue or
"shut-dowm" to exit.

Any help is much appreciated or else my friend is going to be in big
trouble. grrr.
