Eric- You don't mention if you have pinged the lossy G4 or not from another Mac. Have you also tried a different port on the Linksys? Have you considered swapping the other G4 with the troublesome one to see if it has the same problem? There should be *no* reason why you can't use the cable as it is; a) it tests properly; and, b) 10/100 BaseT is good for that length plus more. I'm thinking there may be a problem with the actual voltage levels (and associated current) for either the Mac ethernet port or the Linksys - that's why I suggest swapping ports and swapping G4s... * Jay S.
