I figured it out. The thing that was messing me up is that the new installer disks seem to only want to install - they don't let you quit the installer. I finally noticed that the Jaguar disk has an "open disk utility" option. I used that to partition & reformat the hard drive, then of course, since the Jaguar disk could not install an operating system, since I had erased the old one in the reformat, I had to do some fancy disk swapping & restarting. I think I'm about ready for a game of Centipede (Apeiron) on my 6400 now. Till Next Time, Melissa
