Just took delivery of a new MDD Dual 1.42.  (wow! Is this thing snappy, 
or what?)

In case anyone is concerned about ambient noise in the workplace (I 
was), I'm happy to report that this unit is *much* quieter than I 
expected.

I helped a friend set up her MDD Dual 867 a few months ago and was 
shocked how loud it was.  She's a film/video editor and was very 
annoyed.  This new one is far less noisy - I probably won't need to use 
headphones like she does.
