Airport Extreme

Hello,

I have a new 1 gig mac with the airport extreme
possibility.

I also have a Ibook with a normal airpot card.  

If a was to buy an airport extreme card could I use my
airport extreme enabled mac as a router and surf on my
Ibook?  Or do I need the new airport basestation also?

Anyone have any thoughts or experiences?
