I have a 2.4 GHx phone that brings the phone out to the Mac like the airport brings the network, and there was no increase in flakeyness with the addition of the phone. But I swear someday I'll dig a trench. As for H2O, that's consistent with the rain interfering with the Airport. And I've heard that leaves in the spring and summer can act like little antennas/absorbers.
