Good morning folks. Just to chime in, and for what its worth... I've been using FruitMenu since Jag came out last Sept. (along with Labels, WindowShade & Zounds - all Usanity.com's s/w) with nary a glitch. As a matter of fact, the only real problems I've had in Jag are font problems from OS 9. Usanity's products are good, strong & solid - but they have been going to Steve Jobs' school of how to give away "software-for-life", and then turn around and start charging you for it! (referring to their Silk s/w) my 2¢ ***** In a message dated 7/31/2003 8:43:04 AM Eastern Daylight Time, Dale Hoffman <dhoff at margnat.com> writes: >At 11:24 PM -0400 7/30/03, Gregory Cortelyou wrote: >I know lot's of people have gone to fruit menu and like it, I am a >little scared of it because it majorly changes the way parts of the >system expect themselves to be when installing updates etc. > >Greg, >I haven't installed Fruit Menu yet but am feeling cautious as well. >Is your fear based on any reports? >While searching Version Tracker for Apple Menu emulators, I came upon >Classic Menu by Sig Software. >Their web page assures that > > "Users concerned by the instability of competing > products should note that Classic Menu is a simple > application and applies no patches or low-level hacks." > >It also won the MacFixit Toolbox Award in 2000 for OSX Utilities. > > >http://www.unsanity.com/ (Fruit Menu) >http://www.sigsoftware.com/ (Classic Menu) > >---------- -- J.
