I am running OS 8.1 on my Performa 6300, but the website at http://ssddom01.hgst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/techdocs/85256AB8006A31E5872 56A94006FA3BE links to a PDF download for the model no. IC35L020AVER07 listed as a Deskstar D60 GXP, PDF file D60GXP_comw.pdf, that came with my 733 that also had printed on the HD as having an Apple HDD firmware 2001. It's the original 40 gig that came installed with it. I thought all hard drives were created equal, however, this one appears to me to be an exception. I don't have OS 8.5 or 8.6, so I don't know if I could format it even with that version of Drive Setup.
