According to David Pogue ("Mac OS X, The Missing Manual"), when an installer places an app on your computer, it puts all the support files in a container that shows up on your computer as the application itself. That means, to uninstall, just drag the application to your Trash, and empty it. Of course, there are exceptions to this. MS Office, for one, puts a folder on your drive, and has TONS of files in that folder. However, it should be an easy process to just delete the folder just like I described deleting the app above. As long as you only have these two things happening on your computer, it will be very easy. However, Norton puts stuff in hidden locations, and you actually need to run an uninstaller to get rid of it all. I found out that you can also do a search on your hard drive for the name of the app and make sure you can see hidden files as well, and then you can manually delete these stragglers.
