Perhaps people are forgetting that the Mac is NOT really supported by the general public manufacturers and that most of the world does not even care whether the Mac can recognize their products or not. If you remember that fact, you should be prepared to take the extra step to make your medium compatible. Otherwise, you should determine that the medium IS compatible with your system before you buy it. I realize that not everyone is rich enough to have a desk top computer and a laptop and to be able to physically test the medium before buying, but the internet and bulletin boards can provide much information (just like here). Research your intention before putting it into practice and you can avoid many problems like incompatible accessories or services.
