I had the same problem and it is a PC to Mac thing and the fonts are hosed.
For example, all messages from PC CompuServe users came in with a tiny-tiny
about 6 point font.

There is no fix from the CIS side so I set up an Entourage X rule that bumps
up the font on any message coming in from cis.com.
