What USB->parallel adapter are you using? My understanding is that 
some are more compatible than others. The $20 Inland model I bought 
at Microcenter, recommended by someone on the UnsupportedX list, 
works fine. I recall hearing the HP models don't work as well. Worth 
checking out.
