Deep sleep problem with new G4 MDD

I have the new dual 1 Ghz MDD pwermac G4 with High speed DSL internet.

Ever since i upgraded  to OSX 10.2.4,  when i want to wake up the mac from
sleed  there is a message popping saying that the internet connection is
terminatin and the mac goes back to sleepé I would then wake it up again to
have the same pattern repeat itself for up to 5 mn before i can actually
boot it up 

Why is this happening and how can i fix it
