very true. with an acard/siig ata 133 raid card ($150?) you can get 
sustained speeds off close to 70 mb/s -> more than enough for DV and 
photography. use 2 120 GB WD SE 8 mb cache drives, and the total price, 
about $500, is well less than you will pay for scsi, and will offer you 
far more speed than you need.
