I just searched Apple and found

LCD Displays: About Pixel Anomalies  Article ID: 114113

and it says "....Occasionally, a transistor does not work perfectly, which
may result in the affected subpixel being turned on (bright) or turned off
(dark). With the millions of subpixels on a display, it is quite possible to
have a low number of faulty transistors on an LCD. "

It says to call Apple but does not imply this is something that can be
repaired. 

I need to withdraw this topic from the list as it is not really a G4 issue.
It is an LCD display issue.   If you have some info or know someone that
rapaires LCD's, please just email me.
