Yes, Sherry It is very safe to say that your drive is starting to malfunction and probably is going to "die" in the very near future. At school we had a brand new dell making that same clicking noise when its Hard drive died. I would suggest backing up you important files and documents and getting a new hard drive put in very soon. It looks like you should be still under warrantee from apple , so call apple care and tell them the problem. They should have you fixed up in no time.
