[G4] 10.2.8 update installer dies...

[Snoke Jay S NPRI]

I fixed priveledges as well, and tried again while all this was on-going.
how do I boot into single user mode?  I assume the system has to be shut down first, then booted while holding down a key or two on the keyboard?
