Can't access numerical keypad

The Numerical keypad on my Mac Extended keyboard suddenly stopped 
working. (Strangely it works if I hold down the alt-key while typing 
the numbers...) Any Ideas? I have installed several commercial 
applications recently, incl. QuicKeys, could any of these be the 
culprit? I have a Stereo G4 533 With over a GB of RAM running OS 10.2.8 
and plenty of HD space. Any suggestions or help will be greatly 
appreciated! Has any one run into this before?
