[G4] Machine specific discs

For a while now I have been in the business so to speak of making images for
all my machines at my job. When I was a rookie at this I had tried to create
images based on the latest and greatest software that came with the most
current computers. One day I received a dual 144 and it had 10.2.4
installed. I had decided to try to make do all the app installs and create
new images from that machine. Much to my surprise after receiving a few dual
125's I had tried my new image on one of these machines and it imaged ok,
but wouldn't boot for crap. I went back to building images from the X.2
version I had bought in a box. Not computer specific. I believe the most
recent version of X that Apple sells out of the box is X.2.4. At least that
is the last version that I purchased. Hope this helps.
