[G4] No sound

my question is:  If I use a PCI sound card such as Alchemy, will I have 
sound out from the card only, or do I have to replace the Logic board in 
order to have sound out through the mini plug?

Also, could this be something other than the logic board, such as something  
between the logic board and the sound out mini-plug?  I have rebuilt the DT, 
zapped PRAM, pressed the CUDA button, ran Norton 6 and Techtool Pro 3 
(neither could detect a problem.)

Also, do any of you have a board for sale that would work?
