[G4] DVD burning tips

I am looking for some tips on burning DVD's I have a Pioneer DVR 106D 
installed in my Gigabit G4.  It is upgraded with a 1 Ghz Sonnet Encore 
and has 1 GB of RAM.  The burner is supposed to be capable of 4X 
burning,  but I get a Buffer Underrun error when I try anything over 
2X.  I am using Fuji DVD-R that is capable of 8X burns.  I bumped the 
RAM cahce size to 64 MB.  Any thoughts on getting 4X burns from this 
set up?
