The icons show up fine on my machine because I just installed the new StuffIt Standard v9.0.1. I wonder if something is compressed as a .sitx file, will a user with the older Unstuffit be able to unStuff the file? The enemy of 'good' is 'better' and the old Stuffit with the .sit files was good. I am not sure about the new .sitx files. > Date: Mon, 13 Dec 2004 21:07:07 -0800 > From: Jim Pacyga <jim.pacyga at earthlink.net> > Subject: Re: [G4] Difference between .sit and .sitx > > As long as it is a newer version of Unstuffit (I think they introduced > SITX on 7.x), but a quick peek at their web site would tell for sure. > The way to know is if the SITX file doesn't have a custom icon, then > chances are you don't have the right version on your machine - when you > upgrade the custom icon for SITX files will appear (as opposed to the > generic document form). >
