I believe there was an earlier post on being sparing with the lubricant, and not to use WD40 or anything like that. I'll also have to I.D. what fan is making the noise. It's not real loud, I just don't know if that is SOP for this model. A little lube can't hurt, and while I don't think there's too much dust, it can't hurt to take a look. It's got lots of ventilation, it's the only thing on the desk besides my monitor and the UPS.
