Apple mail

I've been using netscape mail for years and am now trying to use
Apple's mail. I can't believe how much difficulty adjusting has been
but one thing that I find missing is the 'next' button. How do I move
to the next email without deleting the one I just read? is there a key
command I can use? I really liked that I could open an email in
Netscape in its own window and then delete it where the next email
automatically opened or I could hit the 'next' button in the tool list
and it would leave the previous email in my mailbox and open the next
new message.
The jumping between mouse and keyboard is annoying and slows down my
email reading. As I have limited time to get through mail you can see
where I like it move along quickly.
I am going to complain about Help Viewer. Mac's help systems have
always been so easy to use but this Help Viewer sucks big time. I'd
kill for a manual after having to wade through that sorry excuse for a
help aid.
