I suppose I should get Panther, but now that Apple is going to release "Tiger" in a few months, it feels like I should wait. Reply: I got very hopeful with this, since I actually happen to have some compressed air and could try it out. Unfortunately, the air blowing did not help, though also no harm. So, again, thanks to the suggestions, but I'm still hoping for something like "try replacing such and such a file" somewhere in the innards of OX10.2 Thanks and thanks for any other ideas!
