I have a no-name (I think its was like Q-Val or something like that but the box itself has no info on it) USB 2.0 5 1/4" drive enclosure that will work with 3 1/2 and 5 1/4 drives. I have a 4x DVD-ROM from a Sawtooth in it, and that is hooked up to a Yikes 400 running the current 10.3 through a CompUSA USB 2.0 PCI card. It works, but has personality. Specifically, if a disk is in the internal DVR 107 and I put a disk in the external drive, it won't mount. However, mounting on the external first and then inserting the internal recognizes both disks. Sorry to not have more info. Here's what System Profiler says about it: USB 2.0 IDE Bridge: Vendor Name: NEC Electronics Product ID: 109 ($6d) Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec Serial Number: 36690001EF Bus Power (mA): 500 HTH, -Lavode On Jun 22, 2004, at 8:43 PM, Richard Meyeroff wrote: > I would like to know what experiences people on the list have had with > FireWire/USB enclosures for IDE or ATA drives?
