Your laserwriter is a serial device?  If it is then you need a USB - 
Serial adapter to connect it up.

BUT, that works in OS9 - you may have a really hard time finding any 
kind of DRIVER for it in OSX (any flavour).

You have not provided enough info about your OS and your printer to get 
a better guess than that.  When you ask questions, try to include the 
information we need to help you.
