Gurus: Has anyone successfully installed and used the NEC ND-2500A drive for iTunes or iDVD in Jaguar? I¹m using a G4 867, with 10.2.8, and just installed a new NEC ND-2500A CD-RW/DVD-R drive to replace the stock Pioneer DVR-103. The NEC drive comes up under ASProfiler but shows ³Disc Burning² as ³Not Supported². I¹ve tried to use Christian Moller¹s Patchburn 1.1, but cannot get a suitable driver to install (I tried many options). I cannot mount a CD or DVD-R or DVD+R blank in the Finder....getting the standard error: ³You cannot burn this disc in the Finder because the disk drive is not supported.² iTunes 4.1 does not work (burner does not show up in Preferences --> Burning) nor does iDVD. However, looks like I can burn from Toast ok. Interestingly, on another hard drive I¹ve installed 10.3.3, and used Moller¹s Patchburn 2 patch, and the NEC drive works fine for iTunes, Disc Burner (Finder), etc. I¹d like to use the NEC with iDVD and iTunes in 10.2.8 without upgrading 10.3.3 yet. Has anyone done this? If so, did you use a patch, and which one? Ultimately, I might be better off with a Pioneer DVR-107. Thanks in advance.
