Office v.10 hogs the Processor

Does anyone else who has MS office v.x notice how much processor power 
the Microsoft Word.app takes up while sitting idle with an open 
document. According to Activity Monitor it is taking about 10% of the 
processing power?

Is that a standard feature or what?
