If you're looking for surround sound, the M-Audio Revolution 7.1 ( http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Revolution71-main.html ) is quite the awesome beast at a nice price... as long as you don't plan on doing any serious audio production; the drivers don't support many pro audio applications, like Cubase SX and such.
