InforMac isn't any better.  It doesn't find the SATA attached drive 
in either 10.3 or 10.4.

Under "Volumes" it does show the drive as a file system mount point.

Under "PCI" it does show the SATA controller

Under "ATA devices" it does NOT show the attached drive.
