Dan, I have a PowerMac MDD as well, the 1.25Ghz FW400 model, and it only came with a Combo Drive, meaning I could burn CD's and watch DVD's, but not burn DVD's. I have since installed a Pioneer 107D, which works wonderfully with the iLife suite.
