A simple search for "jumper settings" at the Hitachi site <http://www.hitachigst.com/ > yields <http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/jumpers.htm> wherein is listed Model IC35L090AVV207 under the 180GXP link to <http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/d180gxp/d180gxpjum.htm>->normal use is 16 logical head settings for four simple conditions, including pictures. AFAIK, the manual that came with your machine indicates which one to use for each location. Seems straightforward and simple to my eyes. BTW, it appears that your apostrophe key is broken-every place I expected to see one, I saw an "i".
