I'm afraid I don't have any solid answers for you, but for what it's worth, I've had an old 6Gb Seagate in my G4/MDD, on both the ATA100 bus and the ATA66 bus, and it seemed to work just fine. Wonder if there might be something wonky with your Primary IDE Controller? I'm sorry, I can't recall, but did you say you reset the PMU (Power Management Unit)? Just a thought, Tony
