[G4] [OT] DSL Router and Ethernet Hub compatibility

I just helped a friend set up a DSL router and get online with his 
new account. No problem except that the Router would not work with 
the ethernet hub he was using. A call to the DSL tech support 
confirmed that some other subscribers had reported ethernet/router 
incompatibility, so now friend has to swap computer connections 
between printer and router manually. We need a recommendation on 
modestly priced hub that will work with router. Below are hardware 
details.
