[G4] 8X burns VS. 16X burns

Just to follow up, I disconnected the hard drive that was on the same  
cable as my DVR 109.  It took 12:18 to burn a 4.5 GB DVD at "16X".   
So I guess pulling the HD doesn't help.  In fact, it seemed to make  
it worse.  I was burning at around 8 minutes for DVD's.
