His birthday is coming up so I thought I'd get each of us another gig (two 512 sticks) and max out our machines. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with Coast to Coast memory, (1-800-4-Memory) ? I have never used that company. I always buy from DataMem.com. They have gone to extreme ends to ensure that I got the proper size chips at a competitive market price. Once, they had to send three different sets of dual 64Mb laptop chips because Gateway had made a product size change in the middle of a production run for the Solo laptop. There were finally three different sizes of chips for the same model laptop and the size depended on the manufacture date of the machine. DataMem sent two sets of replacement chips without any extra cost, including shipping, before we finally got the information from Gateway about the correct physical size for the machine I was working on. It was a hassle, but it was caused by Gateway, not by DataMem. My $.02 worth.
