I recently had a spill, and decided to try the dishwasher route, but without any detergents as they are very caustic. After a rinsing, I poured a half bottle of 70% alcohol into the keyboard, swished it around, poured it out and repeated with a 99% alcohol solution. I let the Keyboard dry. Several keys still did not operate correctly. I repeated the alcohol treatment, but no success. The good news is that the price of a new Apple keyboard has dropped to just under $40 CDN > > Ethanol and isopropanol are specifically recommended for cleaning > of printed circuit boards.
