I have a G4 450 AGP (Sawtooth) with a 1 GHz OWC processor upgrade and a
DVR-109. It plays DVD movies using the Apple DVD player that came with 10.4.
My guess is your problem is with the ATI Radeon 8500 Graphics card. Try
replacing the stock card and see what happens.
